ok look here is my idea: The Morrowind world itself has a polycount that would be about sufficient for an ax to handle at 15fps. Now all that needs to be done is you need to adapt the system to the OS and framerate, and to convert everything except the world (creatures, etc...) into doom-esque format, and reduce the texture resolutions by about half (i'd say to quake 1-ish). Also make the default draw distance about 50%. Now make the weapons doom-ish, and that's it! As has been seen, the Ax CAN handle DooM with perfection.
Now about the control scheme... The Ax accepts add-on keyboards, right? That means it accepts around a hundred different signals from that port. Now say someone goes and makes a snap-on controller with about 15-20 buttons, and sells it for $20. Tell me you wont buy the mw port and a 20 buck controller for it? alternatively you'll be able to use oyur keyboard... if you're that cheap. You wouldn't even need a joystick cause you can use the ax's d-pad for the looking and aiming.
Easy enough, right?
