Hi there, I have an Axim x51v with pocketgba.
The issue is that I want to play some 32mb games, but I only have 24 megs of free RAM...
At SunBug says that I have to kill some processes, the matter is that I'm not familirazed yet with wm5 process... so... any suggestion to what to kill without hanging up the OS?
BTW there's any type of virtualmem manager or something like that????

Sounds like you need to get a storage card. Either a cf or sd card will hold a lot more than the ram/rom.

Actually, I don't think that is right. Let me know if it works. My understanding was that you needed to have at least 32 MB free in the Axim *main memory* for PocketGBA to work. This is not possible with the standard model and you need to upgrade to 128 MB.

Again, let me know if you find away to make it work. I have the same program.

Yea from a Hard Reset i think there is only 28mb free. I've heard you can get about 30 mb free... but it still might not work. The emulator takes memory to run as well. It might be a lost cause without the 128mb memory upgrade.

With the 128mb memory upgrade you can play Quake III on your axim as well as other games like Warcraft, etc.

Its only worth it if your a gamer though. I've been thinking about it. It would make life easier. I dunno why WM5 devices don't come with 128mb RAM stock. WM5 takes like 35mb to run.

The thing is, for the cost the 128MB upgrade, you can get a DS Lite (or two GBA SPs) and play the games with 100% perfect performance, sound, and controls.... not to mention ten times the battery life.

It works if you have an x50v running WM2003se, but it's hard, if not impossible, to get that much free ram on either an x50 or an x51 running WM05.

A little noob question... on WM2003 there's a shared ROM/RAM memory like Palm OS???
