Icon3 The UNOFFICIAL guide to running pocket quake I on x50/51v

some of you say that when you run PQ I on your axim you get a white screen. i searched on several forums & found downloads to fix this:

1: go to quake.pocketmatrix.com & download the shareware game data ONLY.
2: go to http://www.pocketmatrix.com/forums/v...ic.php?t=20900 & download patrick's Xscale version & Kyolin's white screen fix. they are both in 1 .rar file.
3: download Picard's GAPI file (somewhere in the aximsite forums) & set it like this:
Driver: Original
Enhanced driver mode: Xscale
& set use screen sampling on.
4: install PQ I according to the instructions included in the download.

Now rejoice for now till i find out how to run PQ II & III :approve:

Yes. I've had Pocket Quake years ago on my 400mhz Toshiba e740.

I've actually skipped all that mumbo jumbo GAPI file and whatnot. If you read that website where you get PocketQuake, there is a EXE launcher that allows for the higher resolution devices (ie x51v). The launcher sets orientation, maps, etc. I have it but check out the main website for details.

I dunno what the GAPI file will do, but mine ran just fine. I'm wanting to get multiplayer working (i know it works because they have leagues).

I haven't much luck with the multiplayer aspect.

the gapi driver increases gapi performence on the x50v. I believe there is also a wm5 version for x51v users.

Is there a white screen patch for quake 2 too?

I got the the Pocketquake2 from pocketmatrix.com, the original data file and patrick's Xscale version of PQ2. But after starting it, I see just the GUI and hear the sound playing. The game window is empty. :/
