And given the way Tony Hawk 2's coming out with the software-accelerated version after years with just the 2700g version, I expect you'll need a 624MHz machine (the same as TH2)... which again means an Axim x51v-class machine... at which point you've already got the 2700g graphics.
In other words, it's going to be playable on an x50/51v or an hx4700. ;)
The delta force series of games playstyle and graphics are better than call of duty imho. I wish novalogic would port some of those games over then I would really be impressed.
I hope the next generation PDA's (with VGA hopefully) will use Nvidia Goforce 5500 cards, which where specially designed for cell-phones/PDA's.
Well, I had a really long discussion about that with a PowerVR "fan" (in fact, in a thread where CoD2 was announced on a German PPC site)
Problem is that Intel and Nvidia said they will cooperate but not >how<. Even wikipedia seems to struggle there although you can read that there will be a GoForce in the annouced Monahans. Prob is that, even if such a device comes out, it might be crap. Why? Well, Nvidia has "no clue what they are doing", this is their first test with such small mobile GraCas while e.g. ATI (or should I call them AMD now?) is more skilled in it already and PowerVR has it's strong MBX and the "new" announced SGX will lead into a new 2900er Co-CPU series around 2007/2008 which is licenced already by Intel, so Nvidia's PocketPC future is very unstable at this point.
There also seem to be tests where the GoForce really sucks cause it looses a lot more energy then the 2700er etc. Intel/PowerVR concept.
Ah, and we even don't know what GoForce we are talkin about, cause there is nothing said about the 5500er anywhere, just a co-op.
Last but not least, keep in mind that we haven't heared a lot about the future of Intel's PPC since they sold their XScale series, which can be interpreted both, very bad and good (although I'm not the one that is very optimistic).
I guess this is also a reason why CoD2 is NOT anymore planned to be an exclusive Monahans CPU title (as it was in the first announcement), because the CPU's future isn't secured (at least not concidering that there are no news about it and major PPC-companies are in a negative mood about the PPC-segemnt, take e.g. Dell)

Well, I guess since the thread's author wrote "We've got the first screenshots... read full article", most of us clicked on the link he posted which leads to the news item and the screenshots in the comments section you just posted.
Nevertheless, now everybody should know ;)

Well, this will be the the first game I buy for my X51V. I absolutely loved CoD2 on the Xbox360. At least this should be better than the version of CoD I have on my cell phone.
And given the way Tony Hawk 2's coming out with the software-accelerated version after years with just the 2700g version, I expect you'll need a 624MHz machine (the same as TH2)... which again means an Axim x51v-class machine... at which point you've already got the 2700g graphics.

Thanks for showing me the article links! :) Unfortunately, the authors of those articles are mistaken. CoD won't have a 3rd person view. Also, it's not a port either.
With respect to the software version of THPS2, it came out about three months after the hardware version was available. As I said in my message above, CoD2 has plans for a software version as well.
Notice who was listed as doing it - M-Forma, the people who do mobile phone games. It's not a port, but it's redevelopment of the game for another platform... unlike what addictsait thought. It looks like Aspyr isn't doing the only one, although I couldnt' find any mention of the game on their website.
Either way, the software version requirements for TH2 are pretty steep, from what I recall - I think it was mentioned you really needed a 600MHz machine to run it decently, although the requirements said 512MHz, IIRC. The RAM issue was the big one, however - something like 30MB of RAM free, which most Axims don't see after startup, and I think only the iPaq hx2400 and hx2700 series (along with the hx4700s, of course) really see this much RAM available on a semi-regular basis.
It'll be interesting to see how this does, but I fear that not many machine will be able to run the game - either an x50v/51v, or else one of the machines I mentioned above for the software version.
Well, it just say "first playable", so that might also be just the beta (or even demo) phase (since it's pre-alpha now).
I only say that so nobody is disappointed in the end if it's not the final release date. ;)
