Aspyr project status page

http://www.aspyr.com/games.php/status/

CoD2 (at the very bottom) is now in alpha stage, with a estimated release date of, still, november '06. just thought everyone would like to know this.
Check periodically (maybe once a week or so) and there might be an update.

EDIT

found this too.

quote from aspyr

"Alpha
At this stage, the game is still buggy but solid. There may be a few features that still need to be implemented, but programmers can usually pinpoint the major areas to fix."

Either way, the software version requirements for TH2 are pretty steep, from what I recall - I think it was mentioned you really needed a 600MHz machine to run it decently, although the requirements said 512MHz, IIRC. The RAM issue was the big one, however - something like 30MB of RAM free, which most Axims don't see after startup, and I think only the iPaq hx2400 and hx2700 series (along with the hx4700s, of course) really see this much RAM available on a semi-regular basis.

It'll be interesting to see how this does, but I fear that not many machine will be able to run the game - either an x50v/51v, or else one of the machines I mentioned above for the software version.

Dude, I have a stinking Toshiba e740 w/WM2002 and it has up to 42.1 MB RAM (amount currently on mine right now) on a regular basis.

narval: WM5 changed the way RAM is allocated - so you no longer could get like 40+ MB of Program RAM available after startup, unless the device itself had 128MB of actual RAM in it - and even in WM2003SE it could be a challenge to get that much space, IIRC. You can get up to 38MB of RAM in WM5 and an HP hx2000-series PDA however, if you don't have any Today Panel applications running, or any other things in RAM. After a hard reset, that's more than easily achievable. With the x51v, after a hard reset, I could get maybe 31MB, 32MB.

Still, as I said, Tony Hawk 2's RAM requirements for the non-accelerated version are pretty heavy. I wonder what CoD2 would look like.
