It is fully playable - had my first winning character this morning infact. I'm not sure how to create cab files yet, but I could just post the new exe, xml and gif files on the web to be copied over the original version.

Diablo on FPSEce is fun as long as you do not mind that it needs a lotta power to run near full speed. Hopefully, it will be faster with a future version.

As I wrote somewhere else, they are still working on it although there might not be a new release until the one responsible for the new (completely rewritten) core get's a newer device to work with cause they do not want to bring out a half-finished thing for now (maybe they decide the other way if they see that there is no chance for a new device for now).
Problem is, community bought both new devices but the one for the core-developer "got lost" (no one knows for sure) and the one responsible for the buying still fights for it. And another problem is the current real-life trouble of the core-dev but he says he still finds some time during weekends to code but that's hardly enough.
However, the other developer got his x51v and worked and still works on VGA support which seem to function already, 2700g and wm5.0 support as well as he contacted some PSX-Plugin (Audio and Video)-Developers to port their Plugins to WinCE which already has been done with at least one Audio-Plugin I know of.
I guess they havn't thrown out a new version simply because time passed fast and now they think like: "Ok, we already needed a load of time to do this and community is already not happy about the lack of info and new releases so if we throw it out NOW UNFINISHED, they might be angry so we catch some more time and try to do the job as best as possible!".

Thx Michu, I love FPSE but I hardly ever play it. I spend my time diddling with music more then anything. Although I load up AOE from time to time and take my Catapults and Archers and go to town on those walls.
