Excellent game - really like it. Gfx really great and the game play is the right level for me - one happy camper :-D

(3) It super silly that when you attack one of the villagers that you simply get a message that you have "tried" to attack them. Actually, I did in fact attack them. Nothing seems to happen to them and I am told that my fame has been decreased. What are the stinking guards there for? I tried to get myself thrown in prison but nothing I did seemed to work. Why is there a prision there if neither stealing or attacking people will get me thrown in it?

(4) Speaking of being total evil, this seemed to have no effect on game play except that the shop owners stoped telling me how poorly I was dressed and started telling me how evil I was. It didn't raise the prices or cause them to refuse to do business with me or anything like that. Perhaps later on in the game being evil has some point but I couldn't figure out what it is.

(5) BTW, least you think I am all negative I will say that I enjoy the combat card game held at the inn very much. I find myself turning on my PDA just to play that game! So kudos there. Add that to the easy interface as another plus to this game. :approve:

(1) I have tried many RPGs and what you want is something like "Morrowind" or whatever on the PPC? Forget it ;) why? Well, I'm not talking about graphics but simply the fact that Redshift is a team of not a dozen peeps makes it clear that they can not work like 5 years for a RPG to add all these things you might find funny. If so, there wouldn't be any PPC game cause the OS changes a lot faster which would mean total incompatiblity. And other PPC RPG's are often isometric, so again, a matter of sense and work.

(2) There are some minor things that make it into the final version with every game, of course. There are even things that were not in the beta-test versions but in the final version, so this is totally normal (I have a saying for that: "The more features, the more creatures!" Bugs appear where the human is not able anymore to oversee everything. That's why Linux get's more and more bugs, too but that's a different thing ^^).

(3) Well, in games like "Oblivion" for PC, you can not attack important chars either, they simply won't die. Since "we" do not have so many "useless"-NPCs cause of the fact that the PPC wouldn't be able to manage so many, we do not let you kill any (btw, we are even more realistic then those RPGs cause we have e.g. children but the abliity to kill those would be a very "delicat" thing, as you might know).

The guards normally throw you (as a beginner) in prison, I had never a problem with that. Please report this in The Quest's forums and add all your values. It's one thing to criticize but another to help ; )

(4) Well, as you should know from the beginning, evil is something very "normal" in the game. "There is no light without the dark"
Why would you want to be unable to play the game the "normal" way if you are evil? I don't give anything on any moral-discussions, promothing the "good" too much is something for ancient tales for children.

(5) Thank you, the card game is all Barny's hard work.

BTW, I am not officially member of Team Redshift, I'm just marketing-related connected to them as well as I was (and am ) beta tester. So it is not "my" game. And I do not have an answer on everything. Write into the forum =)

Well I just bought the game and downloaded it. I created my character and just got started but after playing Legacy I'm looking forward to another fine game by RedShift!

One thing I'm wondering about is a map editor. Legacy came with one, does The Quest? I bought the game last night and setup my character. It is nothing urgent, but maybe something I would like to get into.

The only thing I found playing it briefly last night (an hour) that I worry about flying solo this time verse a party. I was playing it and I kinda miss my Legacy party. Its nice to have company.

I wonder if its possible to get another character to join you (maybe tail your lead and help fight next to you). That would be sweet. It would just be like an enemy but attack with you. Just an idea.

I really like how the game moves. Its a big difference over the Legacy. But just like anything else, when you zone into it it doesn't matter. Its the same as reading, after a while you mentally imagine whats going on.

I noticed the enemies are harder to kill cause they run around and run away. In the first town, by the time you chase one down and kill the archer, you have 2 more on your heels. It makes it very interesting. I like it alot.

Props Redshift for another fine game. About the orc in the city commented earlier... its funny but realistic. Its nice how the maps are unified.

To the editor: It is planned the same as with Legacy but with a lot more features. Still, it will be again not for the public, at least not at the start (they want to release own free packs till christmas),

To the party: It was discussed a lot during the beta test phase but they didn't wan to just copy Legacy so there will not be any groups that you can play although it is not sure if "a friend" is totally disagreed on... but the KI would take some time and I'm not sure cause of that. They already disliked to do that with the guards cause of the power that it needs more and the fact that they want it to be compatible with slower devices, too.

"Many enemies" makes it a bit more interesting even if you are a very good char with a high level. If you are not, you could also run away wich sometimes works good.... if you are fast enough ^^, So everyone can get a few XP.

The orcs in towns thing will be changed cause it is in fact unrealistic that guards would let orcs into the town and that orcs do not attack citizens there. If there really is an ememy that follows you and you can not run away fast enough, you have to face him like in "real life".

If you want, post in the official forum cause they really like to hear some nice words about their game(s) ^^

I'm having problems finding that idol for the Orc. Any hints?


Also, be careful on what you say. I've failed a few missions because I choose certain comments. Supposedly persuasion is very important in this game.

I haven't made it that far yet. I'm in the abandoned mine right now. I'm totally hooked. I especially love the card game ..hehe.. I can stay at the inn for hours playing that stupid game (you know - just one more game.... ). I've been kicked out of the game a couple of times but there is no discernable pattern.

I agree that you have to be careful what you say to some of the people. I got myself into a lot of trouble with the robbers when I said something wrong. I also failed a couple of quests because of it.

I seem to be stuck on a couple of quests.

I haven't been able to find the mirror for Thurm's daughter.

I can't find the mortar that is supposed to be in the Garden of Vastare.

Can anyone give me some ideas of where to look?

The mirror is hard to find. Its on the ground. Just click around in that cave. I didn't see it either. Its under some moss or something.
