The maps are HUGE. I haven't specifically put any maps out, but I do have alot of the maps for the first city, and all the dungeons. I just got to the second city. You can go around that Orc that is blocking the bridge.
I have several quests that need to be completed in the first city still but I'm stuck so I moved on temporarily.
I don't have any maps, but I migh be able to help you find a place. What are you looking for?
Just wanted an overview of the area....you know, like a map that doesn't show everything, just has such and such city to the east, castle to the west, etc.

There's a (very) basic overview map in the Quest manual which shows the island shape and position of the 4 main towns / villages.

Also, if you READ the Manual, you'll know how to use the map. : ) Check the 'What's on the screen' section. It's very easy to use. (You can have a detailed map and a world map too, just click on the map icon, where you can check the whole island with every little map's name - recommended strongly during the whole game for better orientation and to know which place is where.)

Dang...feel like an idiot now. That was *too* easy! Thanks for your help, and I will try not to rush into playing the game after this!
I found that idol, it was in the the river which he guards. Just gotta click all through it. (Hint: it is to the WEST of his position).
Also I just found out that you can sell your spellbooks after you learn the spells without losing the spell. I'm in the second city and had all these d*mn books. I tested it by selling a cheap almost useless book, and I still had the stats. So then I sold everybook except the alchemy book, and "Your book".
Nice chunk of change after I was done.
Also I noticed as well, and I'll report this in the bug thread on the main page, is that medallions and necklaces do NOT show the magic stats.
I had a bunch of medallions and necklaces that I had aquired. In the second town there is a medallion shop to buy jewelery. All my necklaces had +5 HP, but it doesn't show it anywhere, nor were they highlighted blue. I had several items that were like this. There was a couple I wish I had known about earlier.
This is again not a bug, just you don't know the game perfectly - read the Manual. : )
(In your intentory, you can switch between the graphical and the written descriptions of your items - click on that little armor/letter icon.)
Spellbooks: yep, you can sell them, but just for a low price.
(btw, posting the same problem twice in different forums makes us repeating all the stuff over and over again...)

I just noticed that Redshift has released a new version of The Quest (v1.01) . According to their online forum, you simply install this version over the existing one. Your saved games should be retained.
ClickGamer is currently offering The Quest for $12.45, which is 50% off the regular price. I recently finished playing this game and enjoyed every minute of it--and I easily played for over 20 hours If you enjoy classic role-playing games or challenging adventures, I highly recommend this title.
