For a great all-in-one emulator, try MorphGear -- previously known as PocketGB. All you have to do is install it, fire up the program -- and load the ROM files! For Gameboy roms, you can even load 'em in zip format, so it saves a lot of room! Where did you hear about the Playstation emulator? Anyway... I don't think I'd be loading one of 'em CD-ISO's onto my puny little SD card

I didn't hear about the playstation emulator. I just mentioned it because I read about emulators for the differenent game platforms and I am really just trying to a)understand how they work on the ppc platform b)how I go about installing the emulator and then running/playing games.
When you sit with a nice girl for two hours, it seems like two minutes. When you sit on a hot stove for two minutes, it seems like two hours that's relativity.
So do I have ti right, once I have MorphGear or a like emulator, any Super Mario Brothers ROM I find should work?
Or do ROMs have to fit the emultor.
I ask because I am looking at MorphGear and there are two games they list in the NES section, and neither of them I want. I'm not going to buy it if i need "official" release ROMs.
Just download the demo, get some ROM and test it out. There are a bunch of ROMs floating around in the public domain... Or if you got one of those ROM rippers, it'll let you backup your ROM image to comp.
Cheers.

Basically the emulator runs .nes, .snes, .gen, and there are more that I don't know. But for Example.
PocketNes
runs dr.mario.nes
and then it plays

I have a basic understanding now - thanks everyone for the help.
Just a couple of question about how the emulator works. Do you click on the game executable and then the game will run or does the emulator need to be running as well?
What you should know is that there is no super nintendo emulator that works at full speed yet. You might not be able to run your favorite SNES titles at full speed, so be warned. Gameboy and NES can be done at near (or close to near) speed. Sega Gamegear/ master system. Too.
Genesis can be done, though still a little choppy.
Also, the PSX emulator is slow, and still in the early stages.
By the way, Morphgear can be installed on your Memory card, and so can the games. When installing Morphgear with active sync, you'll get a question about installing to default directory. Say no, and then you can choose to install it via drop down menu into your memory card.
SNES Bleeding Edge can also be installed to a memory card, and it now has .zip support. Thank God! :D It runs ok for RPGs, but I do not know how it would do for something like Mario, that reguires more spped.

With most emulators, you start the emulator itself, then go 'file' - 'Open' to select the ROM.
