If you enjoy solitaire games you should check out GameBox Solitaire.
Just two weeks after purchasing Solitaire Engine by Runic Software I discovered GameBox Solitaire by PDA Mill which is, in my opinion, a vastly superior product. I'm upset that I threw my money away on Solitaire Engine, but the graphics and play on the GameBox one are awesome! It uses a landscape view so that the cards and layout can be larger. The music and graphics are incredible, and the animation when you win add a nice touch. It is now my favorite game on the Axim. Check it out here:
This is an fantastic looking solitaire. However, I was dissapointed in the solitaire rules. Every version of Pyramid solitaire I have ever played is based off of 13, theirs is based off of 14 which just messes me up since I play that one all the time. There are also no options to flip 3 cards at a time instead of 1. As I read somewhere else, it appears that all the coding went into the graphics and very little time was spent on the gameplay.
If you want a great looking solitaire then this is it, however if you want a solitaire that is more focused on the game then look somewhere else.
I was kind of disappointed by the slow game speed. To be fair, I didn't change my processor speed, so perhaps I can speed it up a tad. Otherwise a great bunch of games :).

McCade, I suggest that you take another look at Pyramid. Pyramid is one of my favorite solitaire games and I've played it at least a dozen times already and can state with 100% certainty that it is based off of 13, not 14.

That is true. I wish there was an option to flip 3 cards instead of 1. Hopefully this will be available in an update. For now, though, I still think this game is amazing.
Well I too have played it at least a dozen times.
In traditional Pyramid the King can be taken off by himself. In fact here are the cards that match for 13.
Ace and Queen
2 and Jack
3 and 10
4 and 9
5 and 8
6 and 7
King by himself
But in this version of it which is based off of 14 (and it states that in the instructions) the card pairs are
Ace and King
2 and Queen
3 and Jack
4 and 10
5 and 9
6 and 8
7 and 7
Here is the exact wording of the in game description:
"Match up cards in the stock with cards in the pyramid to make pairs that total the number 14."
Like I said above, the game is beautiful (which is one of the reasons I have kept it on my Axim -- to show it off). This is a great example of what solitaire games SHOULD look like, I hope that we see more games like this and less of the ones like the solitaire that comes on the PPC.
With that said though, I have to still go with King Sol for gameplay. Perhaps someday there will be a solitaire with the gameplay of KingSol and the beauty of GameBox Solitaire...one cand only hope.
This release from PDA MILL is my most played game in the last few weeks. It is awesome...

McCade- With all due respect, I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I've played the game many times and after reading your post I went back to the game to make sure I wasn't crazy. The in game description for Pyramid states that the cards are to total 13 and, as you mentioned, you can play the King by himself. The only game where the cards add up to 14 is the game "Fourteen Out."
Can somebody else with this game confirm this, please?
Well I tried to take a screenshot to prove that I was not losing my mind. :D But I was unable to since the game does not allow you to get back to the today screen without exiting.
My only guess is that I got an early copy...perhaps...and that they made it 13 later... I will have to go redownload it and see.
We shall see...does anyone at all see pyramid using 14 instead of 13???
