Is there a decent gamepad attachment for x50v yet?
Title says it all. I know there are some bluetooth gamepads out there, but the reviews I have read have been pretty negative. This was over a year ago though and I haven't been keeping a close watch.
So are there better pads out there yet? I would LOVE it if I could play my favorite games emulated with good precision. You know, like dragon punches and fireballs in SNES Street Fighter II.
Thanks

Perhaps we can sign a petition to send to 'Zeta' company asking to make the same gamepad model for the x50v...
It's very strange that they developed a gamepad for the HP PPC that are obviously less powerful to play games than the x50v.....

Indeed I think that the best gamepad should be a 4/6 button pad to attach on right side when you use the x50 in landscape mode (the top when in portrait) with a serial connector to plug in the Axim bottom interface....
After that it should became similar to a PSP....

I keep saying that if I get a Belkin SnapNType, I'm gonna mod it (and mate it with an old Sega Game Gear). Hey, the prices are low now, so maybe it's worth it to hack one apart. I wonder if it supports multiple keys? Anybody here have the Snap N Type?

[OFF TOPIC]
I live in Italy and I REEAALLY would like to buy a snap'n'type Thumb keyboard from belkin...
Too bad it's not sold in Europe...
Stupid market strategies?
The only online shop that ships it to Italy (Rome) would charge me 20 euros for the keyboard plus 35 euros of shipping fee
If someone could help me....
Perhaps buying it in a local retailer and sending it to me in a cheaper way (10 -15 dollars)... I can pay with PayPal...:approve:
THANK YOU!!!
[/OFF TOPIC]
Returning to the main argument of this thread I also think that the best solution is to hack the serial interface and mod any existing cheap gamepad....

Do you think that someone might make the ps3 controller compatable w/ the Axim? That would eliminate the process of designing one. Is this possible?

if you want to play your games tratitional just use the xbox game pad ;)
if it works on the PC why not on the PPC. I love playing NES/SNES with XBox Gamepad

Because then we would
A: have to make the drivers, most likely
and
B: Buy a $100+ CF USB host card to plug the damn thing in.
I've heard that the Wii remote MAY be bluetooth, though, so if it is, that might work. Anyone with the technical knowledge to make it work have a Wiimote yet?
EDIT: Two quick things.
First, I just checked, and wikipedia says "The controller communicates wirelessly with the console via short-range Bluetooth radio, with which it is possible to operate up to 4 controllers as far as 10 meters (approx. 30 ft.) away from the console." So I think it SHOULD probably work.
If anyone can make it work, I would also ask/suggest you try and make the nunchuck and the classic controller work. Even if you can't pull off motion sensing, just the buttons(and analog stick(s)) for those would open up a lot of playability options.

Incidentally, just got the Belkin SnapNType for X50. Of course, I didn't have it for a full day before I opened it up; it had four No.0 philips screws on the back, in plain view! Initial tear-down is encouraging; the keyboard (silver color) contains all the electronics and comes off of the base unit (black), which contains the entire holder assembly, and the keyboard is tethered by three wires to the base, so it could be easily placed somewhere else. The keys themselves are stickied to the circuit board, and no screws fasten the circuit board to the plastic case.
Only one problem; I have failed thus far to get the keyboard to operate as advertised at all. This may be due to damage done to my X50's bottom connector by the faulty Axim cradle.
Once I get it working, I see me appropriating the D-pad and buttons from an old PS controller and mounting them together with an external battery for a killer game platform.
Yes, I realize I need some photos. At work now, so these will have to wait.

Somebody's already getting the accelerometer data from the Wiimote on PC. Check www.hackaday.com. People with some expertise with PPC should be able to get it working with a BT-capable PDA; it's all a matter of time and manpower.
check this out: use a wiimote as your PC's mouse:

I've actually been following the work done, and they've gotten button mapping down, which is the part we need, as well as some IR support and the accelerometers you mentioned. It's enough for some stuff, although when the classic controller is supported the floodgates will open.

I saw on a website that they got the sixaxis (ps3 pad) also working with a pc. Would it be too much of a jump to get it working on an axim as well?
