I'm very skeptical about that supposed ROM update. The source is questionable and there's really been no word whatsoever since that thread's OP. A real changelog would have been nice at the very least; if he has access to the information then surely he has access to some kind of harder evidence. But I guess we'll see tomorrow.

In the mean time I'm just going to work up a list of essentials and such and gather everything together preparatory to the upgrade and then go from there.

Well, I finally performed the OS upgrade and tried it out. Very nice indeed! I'm still not big on stylus control though. Good for strafing, but the Axim is hard to hold while manipulating the buttons with only one hand. You need something to prop the right side (top) of the unit against while you play in order to get any kind of useful gameplay out of it. A thumb stylus would work great here.

While I'm at it though, v0.02 has been released.

I've updated the OP, too.

The Data files have been updated.

Quote:
16/12/06 Data update for both shareware & full versions.
Another conversion problem has been fixed. Only monsters/items from the "Hurt me plenty" difficulty level were converted. So, at higher levels, the game may crash because of unconverted datas.
Please download data patches int the download section. The main data pack have been updated.

Yo, people here with 2002/2003 devices should check out "Doom4CE" http://www.jimmysoftware.com/Softwar...E/download.asp

Works PERFECTLY (although it takes a while to find which of those 4 or so downloads works for you) and you pretty much just need the WAD and the files in the download.

Yeah, there are some ports of Doom out there, but they don't support the 2700G chip. DoomGLES is for now the only Doom port which uses the features of this graphic chip.

Version 0.04 was released today. New extras were also posted to the side, including a GAPI version called DoomPPC primarily used to test networking code and other stuff.
