Been waiting for this since the project was first announced. The developer of DoomGLES has finally released the first Alpha of the game. You will need either the shareware or commercial data files from Doom 1.9, and they have to be pre-converted. There are a couple of downloads (Shareware version and Episode 1 of Ultimate) available on the DGLES page to try out. I'm off to give it a try.

- "Fixed" some freezes in MD2 rendering. There was such a freeze in E1M2 each time it renders a stimpack on easy difficulty level.
To test network code (wifi infrastructure), the following debug projects have been released:
+ DoomPPC V0.4 (more infos & download here : Extras)
- Initial release. Debug build. Everything should be there (in beta state...) except music support.
Network code has been successfully tested between a PC and a PocketPC. I would like to have report about PocketPC / PocketPC tests.

Okay... what am I doing wrong here? All the relevant files have been copied. Everything seems to be in order, but the EXE doesn't seem to like me. *sigh* That was a tease...

Do you have the WM5 upgrade? On my WM5 x51v, no errro message is shown, while on my WM2003SE devices, it won't start (not avalid app).
Excellent, ive been watching this since i first heard it announced on aximsite. Definitely downloading it now. Never played Doom, but im a die-hard fan of Quake

I'm actually considering it. I bought WM5 back when I first got my Axim last spring, but I held off on unpgrading until I read up on it and decided against it when I'd heard of all the problems with it. However, with the pair of guides and tips that have been posted here it might not be quite as bad as all that. I'll think it over s'more and maybe get to it this week. I've been meaning to clean out my Axim anyway, so maybe this is a good excuse.
Well supposedly there is gonna be a new x50v WM5 patch released tomorrow anyway... so why not get Doom running today and then try out the patch tomorrow?
