Great Bomberman clone Xplodus! re-released and made free – go get it!

I’ve already reviewed (and recommended) this title while it was solely released under PDAMill’s name. Now, it has been re-released for free solely under the name of their co-developer, PalmStorm.

Now, PalmStorm has re-released the game – for free. The game seems to be exactly the same as with the original PDAMill version

As the official homepage of PalmStorm has been “under construction” for quite some time, I can only provide you third-party download URL’s: Handango, ClickGamer. Interestingly, it’s no longer available for download on PDAMill’s main Pocket PC / Palm product pages, while the similar title Pumbling Frenzy, co-created with PalmStorm, is still (?) available.

Go get this game – it’s really worth it, particularly for free! You will surely like it.

Sweet! I played the demo some time ago and really enjoyed it - just never got around to purchasing it. And now it's free Woohoo! Thanks for the heads up!

That's really strange. I logged into MyPDAMill and it is listed there as available for purchase. Go figure

It's (still?) available at, say, Handango for free.

As a veteran SNES Bomberman player, I am not impressed. While it is free, it bored me out in 5 min.

-no permanent powerups. To me, this is a requirement in all bomberman clones. Shield should last as long as it is not damaged neither.

-dangerous start -- well, two turrets is down and right to me right at the start without anything in between. That 2 milliseconds starting shield didn't help either.

-repetitive. every level looks the same.

-No Battle Mode. To me, this is the fun part of the game, bombermans pitted against each other.

-better item sounds. In Bomberman, when the Stun timer is about to run out, the enemies starts blinking. This... well, you won't go near them, they might be out anytime they like.

-chain explosions? more than two bombs? Chain explosions kicks ass and should stay that way.

But hey, it is free.

I've downloded it yesterday and give it a try. First impression: It is one of the good ones!
