Download from the game.giveawayoftheday.com site, save the ZIP file somewhere, extract, and there you should see a readme.txt and a setup.exe file. The readme contains some installation instructions and license restrictions for this deal--non-commercial use, no technical support, must install during giveaway timeframe.

Basically the instructions to install this one are to just run (double-click) the setup.exe and from there it is probably self-explanatory. You'll be asked if you want to install to PC or PocketPC (or both).

Complete that process and along the way some extra windows will open. One is the website where you got the download--just close that. The important one is a text box containing your registration keys. I would copy that text and paste it somewhere like a text file or word doc and save it.

To register the PC version, you have to actually run the game, which by default will be in your Start Menu under Programs\Sytexis Software\Brutal Wars. You can close the first thing that pops up (unless you want to play right now), and then click "Internet" and then you can pick register, paste in your code, and you're good to go on the PC. (Installing to your PC is optional, but if you think you may want it later... I'd go ahead and do it to take advantage of today's free offer.)

To install to your Axim, go to ActiveSync, Tools, Add/Remove Programs, search through the list for "Sytexis Brutal Wars" and then install away (make sure "install to default location" is un-checked if you'd like to pick the location).

I use some other programs from this site, and have had no issues installing their offerings. Unfortunately I am having some ActiveSync problems lately (too many profiles, etc) and have not successfully installed the game to my Ax yet. So technically I can not vouch for the PocketPC version (yet). I am having issues, but since I had Activesync problems already I think the blame lies squarely with Microsoft Activesync, Device Manager, etc., and not the game itself.

Anyone else have a success story with this game offer yet?

Just installed and registered on my pc and ppc. Seems to work fine. Haven't gotten a chance to truly play the game yet.

I actually have it working on my x50v now. I wasn't sure if it would work for PocketPC 2003 se, but so far no issues.

Small correction to my above explanation, when I mentioned unchecking the "install to default location..." etc.... that only applies for WM2003se/Activesync 3.8. If you have x51v/WM5/Activesync 4+ then you get to choose on the device itself where you want to install it.

It looks like they have a free game every day! But they are for windows desktop, this was a rare one for windows mobile.

But if you want some free windows games legally, then this is the place to go daily.

EDIT: I also noticed they got free utilites too! This site looks kewl, and ill have to bookmark it, just incase something comes that i cant help but downloading.
