Is there a good DOS emulator for the X50v out there?

I was wondering if there was a way to play my old DOS games on my x50v? I'd like to load up Star Trek 25th Anniversary or maybe Journeyman Project and play some of the classics.

Has anyone got this to work? I've been looking around for a while with no luck.

Thanks :)

Well if you folow the instructions, mount everything correct etc. and know how to start DOS programs, it's nearly as easy as it was "back then" ^^

Can you boot up Windows 95 or Windows 98 on it?

You can even load XP but you won't come far as it will give you the warning that you have not enough free RAM before you are able to log in ^^

However, it's pointless as every remote control is faster then to emulate such a system.... I mean you can actually SEE how Windows loading screen is drawn color by color, it's like watching a slideshow ;)

http://n0p.averest-k.ru/?DOSBox_PPC:DOSBox_0.63

As I tested it myself and it works good.
Funny to see a smiley in the url btw... ^^

Of course, it's all a matter of what ya wanna run... so don't go too far forward in the timeline when you select the games you wanna load ;)
However, the games you named seem pretty realistic... and there is an Amiga version of Star Trek, too so if everything goes bad, you could try PocketUAE for Amiga emulation.

old DOS games

What about running something like the Sierra made quest for glory series? I know 1-4 are dos bootable, I used to play them, but most were remade in VGA. Is it possible to play them with a DOS emulator?

pDosBox from pocketwall.com has expired the first of the year. I really liked pDosBox because it played games very well. Beta 2 is what I used.

I think I've even tried n0p's version as well and its compatible. I'll download it again and check it out.

I've found that PocketDos is good for Dos applications... and pDosBox and n0p's DosBox are good for gaming.

If a game runs or not depends on many factors since the emulated graphic chip isn't able to handle everything. Just try it...

I think at least the earlierst versions of Quest of Glory should run. However, this is just speculation via the specs.
