Hi,
Has anyone found the old Acornsoft game 'Elite' for the Windows mobile PC?
If so, where can I get it from and does it work on the Axim 51v 624

There was supposed to be a release from here: http://www.eliteppc.com/
but it was never finished =(

On the other hand, this game was ported to many other platforms, so you could just emulate it...

i will keep an eye open for the finished version of elite. being new to the pda scene, i really haven't got a clue about how to get an emulator up and running.
on a (hopefully) easier note, can i download microsofts Minesweeper for the pda? (easily)

The amount of freeware for PocketPC is so huge, you can not oversee it entirly. Sometimes when you search for such a game or software with "basic" features or which is a clone, you'll find commercial software first and then when digging deeper, you'll find the same clone from a different author and it's freeware.

About emulators... it's the same as when you try to run one on a PC ^^
Specific emulator and ROM/Image are often all you need to get a(ny) game started that is in the circle of possibility (means, it should be realistc to perform it).
If you want to have an overlook on the systems you can simulate on your PDA, check the animated image in my signature, I did a page on that =)

Nice find feketedns:approve: Just tried it on my X50v with WM5 A02 and it plays great. Shame the beta only lasts for a month though.

Use a registry editor, and delete the keys of game from registry, and you get a new month.
