the reason i feel y people goin crazy on emulators and roms...

i feel that people runing around for emualtors and roms for PPC is because there isnt enough good games in every type of game...

i wanna play some rpgs and theres arent really one that i can found like final fantasy type

although everquest is close to it and its great too but its just not the same thing...

what we need is more competition in this area of PPC gaming

some well knowig companies should step in and create more pressure the developes to make better games...

PPC is powerful and i know they can do a better job beside puzzle games

imagine rockstar comes in and make a grand theft auto for PPC or square comes in and make final fantasy for PPC

also if gaming demand more power off PPC than that would pressure the PPC makes to make more powerful PPC
400 mhz PPC processors stay 400 for quite awhile maybe if theres was a demand for more power we would had a 600 or even 800 by now...

just an opinion.......

Here is also something else to consider. I like the emulators because it brings me back when I was a kid play these games on a console, arcade, or a classic handheld. Mostly because of the idea of how much technology has changed even within a few years.

I agree. For me, having an emulator is more of a retro thing. Just bringing back the "good ole days." :)

I was trying to figure out what the draw for me was as well....retro about sums it up. There really was something cool about hearing the music for Super Mario Brothers for the first time after about 10-12 years. :)

I totally agree. I modded my xbox so I can play atari, nes, snes, MAME, and genesis on it. Hardly anyone who comes over plays the xbox games. You can see us playing Joust, Shinobi or Sonic...

Good times, good memories.

I mostly use emulators because it is easier to have all my owned gameboy games on my ppc than to carry my gameboy and pockets full of cartridges.

I agree with the retro thing. I recently started playing a game of Final Fantasy and from the opening music it brought me back to when I was 15 opening that box for the first time...it's fun relving your glory days.

One can't forget the "cool" factor either lol... When I load up Mega Man, Or Earthbound on my PPC and show a friend they usually reply with "NOOOOO WAY". I love that response ^_^

But then after they say "NOOOOO WAY", they say "Isn't that illegal?", which really bugs me........

Well, part of it is the retro thing, esepcially for NES, although, those games are still good quality. The tihng about mobility is another point, just because the games may be old doesn't meant they're not any more fun than PPC native games. In fact, with a few exceptions (Argentum), they ARE better than PPC native games.

What I think is needed is a good Native Shooter that isn't a port of Doom or Quake... it should be tailored for PPC entry, especially if for competetive pla, and shoudl really take advantage of its feautres.

100% customizable mappings, that work on keyboards and everything would be a start. Perhaps the equivalnet of one-handed D-Pad use and Stylus would be best, to be able to enter gestures, lke writting letters ON the scren, could be a good alternative to key commands for such a small are.

RPG games are another idea, and of course, ntohign is wrong with more strategy!

Well, I'm only 21 so for me, it is the lack of RPGs on the Pocket PC that causes me to use emulators. :)

i keep seeing all of these posts about roms being illegal and what not, and i really feel like i have to put in my two cents. while i do not condone the use of emulators to play current games for free, i feel that playing old-skool shite should not be a problem. its not like you can go into a store and buy bubble bobble. in fact, nintendo should just come out with thier own emulator and charge like 3 bucks for the roms, that way they could still profit from something that has been off of the market for like 15 years now. gamecube roms = bad, nes roms = good!
