Bookworm Unknown ID 1280068684

This is becomming quite frustrating. I have an email in to their support over at Astraware (the office PPC support place), but due to the Points Party, they are behind in getting this resolved. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.

The problem was so frustrating that I personally removed all the other non-OS files, then did a hard reset just to make sure that everything was gone. My X50v is now clean as can be, running WM2003SE. I then copy Bookworm over to its own folder in Program Files, start it up, play for a little while, then exit. Now when I try to reload it, I get, "unknown id 1280068684 in database inbuiltDb.pdb" and of course the game aborts. It does not matter if I register it or not, the same problem happends.

Anyone seen this before???

Sounds like it may be something as simple as your owner ID not matching up......

If you saved the email you received from Astraware when you purchased the game, check and see if it matches what you have entered on the "register" page (Tools>register)

You might want to check and see if you changed your owner information on your device with all the tinkering you have been doing too

Susan

PS Astraware support is usually VERY good....try to be patient :)

I own Bookworm and have never had this problem. You say "I then copy Bookworm over to its own folder in Program Files". I'm pretty sure you have to install the game from Windows for it to work right. Why are you copying Bookworm "over"?

What with all the problems I have been having, including it just up and dumping whatever game I am working on with no warning, I make a backup of the Bookworm directory onto my SD. It is this that I am copying over back into the BIS.

Due to all this back and forth copying and trying, you are right, I forgot to do an actual install. Strange, though, it runs for a while without a proper install. Go figure!

Owner ID does match up. I actually thought of checking that. mkss55442 seems to have hit the nail over the head (or maybe I am the nail ).

I shall be patient, as they still have the other issue of the game just aborting on me that they are working on. If this dumps me out again today, I'll just put it away for a few more days.....

Thanks for everyone's help,
Dobermann

I have begun having the very same problem--well into the game--high levels and high scores and then nothing--it dumps me and brings up the "new game" page.
This is now happening over and over.

I have this game on a cf card--I habe a x50v axim windows 2003SE.
I dont get it????
