Ages of Empires in VGA mode

I have been over every article dealing with VGA. I have recently purchased Ages of Empires and have read many forums and know it's VGA compatible by why does it not run on my x51v in VGA mode? I have to switch it back to qVGA in order to play it. I rather not keep switching from one resolution to another. Ages of Empires is not the only game that do this either. Programs like MySportTraining also are somewhat affected since not every toolbar is available in VGA mode. Can someone fill me in on how I can avoid this? Maybe I'm missing something here.

I've not been able to run the game in true VGA mode. I'd guess that it's only compatible-meaning that even though not a VGA game, VGA capable devices will be able to run it. If indeed it can be run in true VGA mode, any tips would be appreciated by me too :)

Age of empires in VGA would be amazing, no game deserves it more. By far my favorite game for my axim.

Do you mean you'd like to play the game with even smaller units? I think they're as small as they can be without losing some gameplay value. (Talk/write to the developers)

The tiles have been scaled down to be QVGA, so if the game were to be made truly VGa, the original AOE sprites and tiles should be used which would appear clearer instead of smaller. The play area and unit size seem to already match the ratios of the PC version, but they're scaled down and missing 3/4 of the pixels.

Of course, while we're dreaming they can go ahead and:
1. Improve the AI
2. Improve the terrible pathfinding
3. Put the rest of the sound/midi files back in (there's 8gb sd cards now, most people won't miss the space)
4. Add multiplayer.

Of course, I don't really think any of this would ever happen, because one of two things would have to happen:
1. Zio believes they can sell a lot of copies of VGA Age of Empires to offset the cost.
2. Zio gives out the source code and says "have fun."

I don't think either of those alternatives are really that realistic, But we can all wish.
