Emulators are slow on the hw6900

Hi,

I got a new pocket to replace my hx2490, however i am starting to think its more of a downgrade. It has a 416 mhz processor and it is on WM5. Snes emulators run painfully slow, i have tried morphgear and some different versions of pocket snes and none run anywhere near fast enough for me to consider them playable.

I overclocked the device to 624 mhz, however it gets hotter then the sun, and crashes frequently.

I have searched around the forums already and have found nothing of use. So please you amazing aximsite people, help me out! Is there an emulator somewhere which would solve my problems?

Thank you for any replies

Well first of, 624 Mhz is like killing the device to me. You shouldn't have as many probs with a 500er clocking.
And yeah, it's a downgrade if you buy a PPC with less MHz then your old one, especially if you compare how much faster SNES emulation is if you add "just" 100 Mhz.

Thank you for the reply Michu:

1. I did overclock it to 520 mhz, however emulators still ran very slow. (And it still crashed)

2. I'm pretty sure I've heard of people with only 300mhz processors getting good performance in snes emulators, I understand that they may be lieing, but for what purpose?

Is it possible to get good performance (without overclocking) on a hw6900?

Thats strange. SNES emulators ran great on my 400mhz Toshiba e740 like 10 years ago.

Perhaps your downloading the wrong versions? I use PocketSnes, but my version of course is the accelerated versions for my Axim x51v.

You should try to post which versions of which software you are installing.

Do you have the newest (and the non-hacked) GAPI library? Might be why nothing is working!
