I noticed in a few threads (from about a year ago) that some where looking for a version of Monopoly. Has anyone had any luck yet? I'm looking for one as well. I'd obviously prefer to have a free version, but I'd be willing to pay for a retail version if it was nice enough.
Thanks in advance,

I want to say I remember seeing one over at Astraware, but I could be mistaken.

I tried it out.... but ended up not getting it.... only because we have 'family board game night (when all the family makes time to sit down at the table to play, talk, and have fun for a few hours).... and Monopoly has always been a favorite..... and it just wasn't the same on the handheld :)
The Handmark one is the only version I know of (that's actually allowed to be called Monopoly) - however, I remain convinced that the AI players cheat.

I like the Handmark version. Actually, I picked up Handmark's 4-in-1 game pak pretty cheap quite awhile back. For some reason, they had a couple copies in the clearance bin for like $15 at the local Office Depot one day. Glad I snatched one up, never saw it again anywhere close to that price. Monopoly, Scrabble, Yahtzee & Battleship, what a deal!
Okay, it's not just me, it does seem like the AI cheats sometimes. Then there have been a couple times where I swear the AI went from having say $600, had to pay something like $300 rent on a property it landed on, so it sold a bunch of houses and was left with $25. Very rare, usually it beats me...
I too have the handmark one, and though the AI is *very* good, it is possible to win....that is why I like it, very hard, not just a puchover game.

?? This isn't an ego thing, since normally I wouldn't bother commenting, but all these comments on the AI have me intrigued. I've played it plenty, it is indeed a quick and fun Monopoly, and while the AI isn't a joke (thank goodness), it isn't hard to beat.
Basic Monopoly strategy does the job (ex: the best color to own are the light blues), and simple exploitation of the trade flaws in the AI (it blocks you from trading for a full color UNLESS you offer to help it make a color... such as the railroads or utilities :rolling:) .
