I know this is doable with Palm devices, but I want to know if games (Scrabble, Monopoly, etc.) can be played by two people on two different devices using the IR. In particular, between an Axim and an iPaq 3635. Do the devices need to be pointing at each other the whole time to make it work??

If it is through ir, I think you would have to have the devices pointing at eachother.

Yes both devices have to be pointing their IR ports at each other, and fairly close together too (IrDA only has like a 6' range).

Maybe devs will start making WiFi / Bluetooth networking in their games soon?

I think some games already have Wifi/Bluetooth connection.
