Quake Problem

I followed all the instructions and tried to load quake but I get a w_locadwadfile: couldn't load gfx.wad error

Help, what am I doing wrong?

I know about PocketQuake that you simply install it, and in the same dir you drop the paq from either the shareware or the retail version. Thats is. There is no .wad file, just a big .paq ;)

And just to let you know, on an Axim Advanced o/c to 498MHz, I barely get anything above 15FPS (even if).....

And from the Pocket Quake forums, the "wad file" error either means that you didn't install in the right directory 'My Device\quake\id1\' or that the pak file you put on your Axim isn't in correct format. Make sure the file is: pak0.pak.gz

How big is the pak0.pak.gz file? The one I have (it says pak0.pak) is 18 MB.....

Sounds just about right.......The .pak is the unzipped file, while .gz is the compressed one ;)

I Followed this for installing pocket quake and it works!!!

You have to follow this exactly as it says or it won't work. Pocket quake does not come with a installer so you have to installing manually.

The Game rocks!!!

Here's the link to the read me. I used zip genius for unzipping.

If you're trying to use Pak1, you also have to add Pak0 for it to work.

it told me i have to have a registered version to have modified games...what does that mean?

it means you need the full version of quake to play any modifications
