hey raynne...how do u change the color of the font
Under the message Icons area is the VB code area. Choose enhanced mode under the vb code to the left and then go to the color drop down menu. Choose what color you want and then choose the bottom red X that says close all tags.

What about pocketSCUMM? Or is does that not qualify as a RPG? More of an adventue I guess. I like it a lot, allows you to play old lucasart games like LOOM and Monkey Island. Nice graphics, and these games are very playable on the ppc screen.

Edit: The classic "Beneath a Steel Sky" is now available as freeware! Check the link above. For other games you need the roms. Lots of people will have copies of these games lying around somewhere (Ihad).
Personally, Sim City 2000 is a good challenging game (plus there are cheat codes for 500,000 if you want to start it right). I am also hooked on Done in 60 Seconds, a great puzzle game if you have to wait in line a few minutes or on the "throne".

ejb,
Does it come with monkey island on it. That was my fav. game of all time:D
Originally posted by ErikT I enjoy Insanaquarium, but it gets pretty old once you've won all the levels. My daughter really likes playing it. She can't really read and doesn't know numbers but somehow she manages.
I bought Age of Empires, but it is not meant to be played on such a small screen. The desktop version kept me up till 3am. The hand held version had me hoping that it would end soon. I'll probably play it once in a while (or give it away) but not worth $30.
I really like NeoTiles, and pretty much any chess game is good for some fun.

I've played AOE both ways too and while the reduced screen takes some getting used to, I find it quite enjoyable. I can't begin to tell you the number of times my legs went numb...

Don't get me wrong... as far as eye candy and showing off the PPC, AOE beats most games out there. (GTS Racing is pretty amazing, though). I just had a hard time with a couple things that made it difficult for me to enjoy as much as the desktop (of course I couldn't whip the desktop out of my pants pocket, so there's something for AOE pocket).
I find responding to attacks in areas outside of the screen difficult - seems hard to determine where they are happening. Also, the difficulty with selecting units does get me down. I can't tell you how many villagers I've sent off into Neverland (tm). A final thing that I find difficult is the reduced AI. The AI is VERY bad. Once, I had 4 fishing boats in a wide bending channel that managed to pile themselves up each time they came back with fish... even if I spaced them out when I sent them fishing. I finally solved it by making another Dock just around the bend so that the computer didn't have to figure out how to move the boats around the point. And I find that villagers are just as dumb. I need to hold their hand all the way during a long walk or they get stuck on a tree or behind a rock.
One last thing is the similarity between gold and rock. It doesn't make much of a difference now that I've figured it out, but the first few games that I played sure were frustrating.
Anyway, I agree that AOE is entertaining, but I just don't have the stamina on it that I did with the desktop and find some of my other LESS EXPENSIVE games as entertaining.
Have you tried Counter Sheep it's not a RPG but more like an artillery game where you lob/shoot things at other sheep. Sounds odd but the graphics are great and you can design custom levels.
Definitely true about the fishing boats, responding to attacks, and lost villagers/military units. Still all of the above has happened for me on the PC version. And, like you said, you can't whip the PC out of your pants (or at least I'd really rather not see that).
'Scuse me while I whip this out :D

pocketScumm is just the game engine. You need the original game files to play. If you have the old DOS CD version, you will find two files called monkey.000 and monkey.001. There's also a floppy verion with *.lec and *.lvl files. That works too.
As I said, the game files for Beneath a Steel sky are free. I don't know this game myself, but i presume it's similar to Monkey Island.
