There's one really really big problem with what you're asking: there is no PSX emulator for the PPC, and I doubt that there ever will be. The problem is that, simply put, emulation requires quite a bit of brute force processing power, something with the PPC doesn't have all that much of. About the most advanced platform you could probably run reliably is the SNES/GBA. Anything older is fine (personally, I have an NES emulator in my iPAQ).
In general, here's what you need: 1. The emulator. This site lists off a bunch of emulators that run on the PocketPC. Besides those, there's also Morphgear, which is payware, but has several different platforms integrated in one program. I have tried it briefly, and it had the advantage of actually running Genesis ROMs (haven't found a Genesis emulator that could actually do that), but it's not free. 2. ROMs. ROMs can be split into three categories: illegal, claims to be legal, and perfectly legal. The thing about emulation is that the emulators themselves are perfectly legal, but using ROMs that are ripped off of the game cartridges is illegal. Now, there are some ROMs out there that were designed from the ground up and given away for free, but besides being rare, you're probably not looking for that stuff anyway. The illegal ones I can not to tell you exactly where they reside, again for legal reasons, but search engines are your friend here. They're not exactly hard to find.

There is indeed a Playstation emulator for the wimpy 400mhz ppc and it now can play sound! The link above will give you the sites you need to look into this. Basically all you need is a playstation game and the rest of the programs you need can be found freely around the net as trials and demos. I myself have been playing Final Fantasy 8 for the past few weeks.
Give it a try! | |||

Thanks for the reminder Rob- I certainly don't want anyone to get in trouble. I was just curious if it this sort of thing works, and/or even worth the trouble of putting on my PPC..granted its not a powerful unit for such
task i suppose. Besides, i've already set aside $$ for the upcoming Sony PSP. E
