Beats of Rage ported to Pocket PC!

Beats of Rage is a 'beat 'em up engine' in the grain of Streets of Rage, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Double Dragon, etc. Its a PC oriented game that is heavily moddable and there exist several dozen 'game PAK's for it.

I've ported it to Pocket PC and although its still early, it is already very playable .. and looks stunning on the landscape Pocket PC I must say

Let me know what you think..

Get alpha 3 here:
http://www.codejedi.com/bor/binaries/borce003alpha.zip

Updated my main BOR webpage with Alpha 3 details a little:

http://www.codejedi.com/bor/

If you want mods/pak files, this fine lad is hosting a bunch:
http://aliusweb.dyndns.org/bor.html

Let me know your thoughts as it improves over the next short while.

Be sure to read the README for details, but to install just copy the zip contents to somewhere on a SD or CF card

Looks great, would love to try it, however, it doesn't look like it would be easy to play with the 4700's touchpad.

Thanks for the freeware.

yeah, not sure how it'd play with the glidepoint-dpad-thingy.. someone let me know

I am undecided about VGA -- the game engine is designed to run in 320x200 so naturally looks good in QVGA with GAPI scaling it up. However, on the Axim's with OpenGL/ES available I could use the hardware to scale it up with smoothing perhaps... but with no OpenGL/ES available everywhere, I could write or borrow a software scale/smoother .. but is it worth it, scaling from fullscreen ot fullscreen with smoothing? hmm..

We'll see..

Yeah, Styletap is an idea...

I switched from Palm to PPC last summer and the only app I really and truly miss is Shadowplan. There is nothing out there as functional as it is.

There's some great software from CodeJedi
