I'm a total newbie for this. I just got an Axim for school, and of course I would rather play games than take notes in class. :p So my question is the Pocket SNES comes in StrongARM and SH3 and I don't know which one to download. This may sound stupid to you, but help a non-techy out.
Thanx!

There have been many reports of decent speed on WM2003, but until my upgrade CD arrives I won't know for sure.

PocketSNES runs at nearly full-speed (30 fps) for most games with sound turned off on the Axim Advanced running WM2003 (ROM vA05) with a PXA255 processor. It's very playable and enjoyable! :)
i'm with cherdman: PocketNester is way more *fun*. Who wants to play knackered old games without the knackered old music and sfx that goes with them? Balloon Fight! Bomberman! Wooo!
Ahem.

I have the PXA255 processor, and i'm getting my WM2003 CD sometime (it says Sept 30, hopefully earlier)... can anyone with the two tell me how Mario Kart runs on it?
Theres one thing that I want to play, and thats the game...
For now PocketNester and a few native games are more than enough. Pretty much all video stuff is better with 2003. If you have 2003 then it should run just fine, but it's pretty laggy for us guys using 2002. In fact, sevreal benchmark tests have shown that SNES performs best on currently-shipping Axims, the same or even moreso than the h2200s that have been so well acclaimed. Pocket Nester is great, though, as well. Games like Zelda I and II, hte classic Mario, Bomberman, Old-School Tetris (having played like a million and one clones, I found the original one to be the best tetris). A lot of the SNES ROMS are being ported to Gameboy advance so there's licencing issues there as well. with NES the programs are pretty muc hlong dead so nobody cares if you use then anyway :)
MarioKart runs great on the new Axim Advanced's with WM2003. Seems to get lower fps (around 20-25) than other games, but still seems to run near full-speed.
P.S. Sound is horrid on MarioKart so it is best played muted.
