Strategy for Jawbreaker

Hello folks- I'm new to this forum and this particular Pocket. Is there a guide somewhere to the strategy of Jawbreaker? It is fun to play but I don't think I am applying any particular strategy- thank you! KC

I don't get to spend a lot of time on games so haven't figured out much of a strategy but I do seem to remember that you want to try to form large groups of colored balls which touch and get removed as a group as you get the largest points when you eliminate the largest groups. Let us know your high score!

Why do you want a strategy to a game which is designed to waste a couple of minutes duriing the day. Spoils the whole point to be fair.

Well, personally, mY OWN strategy with Jawbreaker is simple. Turn on game, play for hours, and when in meetings, turn the sound off and keep playing. :-p

Seriously, it's just a time waster. Not a bad one either, almost as addictive as Bejeweled 1. But there are several game types available within Jawbreaker, just find one that you like and enjoy. The biggest stragety that seems to carry across them all is to just get as many of a single color together and "pop" them. Taht gives you the largest amount of points in a single pop.

For megashift I try to eliminate any colors that are either low in number, or have no hope of making big groupings.
After I've done that I try to make the biggest one color group I can. Then it's all about getting more bubbles to come in by clearing rows. If I can fill the screen up again I'll try the same process from above.

Before I did my ROM update I had an average of 1100, and my top game was a 4100 in MegaShift. I thought that was really good until I caught the Bubblet score page...

depends on the variant. i just play standard and it's basically to go for as large a single group as possible then clear up. the breaker bonus is worth a maximum of 100 (it's (5 - the number of jaws left) * 20) so isn't really worth going for.

the scoring for group sizes goes:

2 - 2
3 - 6
4 - 12
5 - 20
6 - 30
7 - 42
8 - 56
9 - 72
10 - 90
11 - 110
12 - 132
13 - 156
14 - 182
15 - 210
16 - 240
17 - 272
...
25 - 600
26 - 650
28 - 756

and on...

so you don't need to get far before each extra one is worth way more than starting a new set. the exception to this is where you're presented with a relatively large group at the start that has limitations on how it can grow because there are no additional jaws of the same colour within a few columns.

but... remember that you can get rid of whole columns to link up two blocks.
