Gaming with the Basic 300mhz Axim?

I just bought a Basic Axim. I was wondering what luck I am going to have playing games on it?
Some games I have interest in include Buglord, Sorcery, EQ and any other first person shooter/fantasy games or strategy games (anything similar to Starcraft).

Am I going to have a lot of choppiness or problems running any games? Are there any games I should certainly avoid until I can get the Advanced Axim?
If I am going to find problems, I may sell this Basic model and get an Advanced model.

thanks,
tadpole

You have a 30 day money back warranty. So if you find out you want to upgrade, just return it by the 30 days and get the advanced.

You shouldnt have a problem running any of those games on your 300mhz Ax. I have that one and have not found a game that runs choppy on it yet.. it you want just get a prog to boost your cpu a little after all the 255 chip is the exact same in the 300 as it is in the 400..

I have a basic model which runs pretty much any games or programs. I have Everquest 1 and 2 installed, Argentum, GTS racing and Spawn (that one takes a while to load but plays normally)
So you shouldn't have any problems, and if you do, you can boost it a little.
Is there a porblem occifer?

Yeah, I have a Basic model too. The only game that runs at less than playable speeds is Geopod, and I have a lot of games. Age of Empires runs fine, Leo's Flight Simulator runs GREAT, Pocket Quake runs great (with slightly downgraded particle effects), Sim City 2000 runs great, Pocket Dog Fight runs great... etc. etc. You get the point. The Dell Axim Basic is a great machine! There is NO need to buy the advanced in my opinion. Just make sure you buy a 256 MB SD card to store all of your stuff on.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

I'm not much of a gamer yet on the Axim, but I'm trying it out Everquest part 1, and I've yet to see it run bad. All the games (which are not much) I've played so far, I didn't have any problems with them running on the basic Axim.

I am a cheap-o Ax user as well and have had little problem running games on the 300. Tomb Raider has been the only game I have had any chopiness with. I figure why spend the extra $100 on the 400, when you can take that cash and buy some more toys for it!
She has her toys, I have mine!

Thats exactly what I thought! For the price I would have spent for the Advanced Model, I was able to get an Extra Battery, an Accidental Damage Warranty, and the Cradle.
