The part I can't figure out is: why the mods can get so upset about people hacking the WM2003 upgrade (the unlawfulness of which is questionable; there certainly is no clear-cut legal opinion on the matter) but ignore the discussions about software and techniques to unlawfully enter others' wireless networks (which seems to me to be a much greater threat and certainly a prosecutable offense under many circumstances).
The threads that got shut down were becoming How-To's on how to upgrade from 2002 to 2003, which is illegal no matter how you look at it. I'm sure if someone here were to start making a guide on how to tap into someone's LAN then the thread would be shut down fast, but mostly the LAN threads are arguments about the ethics of the issue.

I can't/don't/won't speak for Aximsite, but I think if posts were being made as to using *Dell's* wireless, then it would get the edit/closed treatment.
There were a few threads explaining that Aximsite wishes to stay on good terms with Dell. Although I disagree, I understand where they are coming from.

I was in the thread I think you are refering to and actually, no they did not. I was amazed at how long they ran like that. We are not even premitted to whisper even a mention about the WM2003 upgrade without raising eyebrows and edits and closures. Also, there was a thread (or it was int he thread about WiFi, I can;t remember) that was talking about getting copies of a pretty expensive program from a relative and some requests for it. I even think some moderators were posting in the thread. It ran for a good while....
