hey i'm new to this site and not sure if its the right place for this but ive got a pretty interesting emulator project I need help with. Basically need to make a laptop emulate a scanner and "scan" files from one computer directly to another, trying not to have to print the files and then scan.
I might be missing something... but why not just use PDF
CutePDF is even free for commercial use

i screwed up and scanned 1000's of docs to wrong place, the system it goes into is locked down, cant put images into database any other way then through the scanner provided, so either print all and scan, or emulate the scanner to get files transfered (but the system sees it as scanned). dont even know if possible but would save allot of time, dont even think i have time to do it manually
Like psionandy stated, PDF would probably be the way to go. I've never used CutePDF, but Acrobat basically emulates a printer. You'd just print those files to Acrobat, or CutePDF, and copy the files to your laptop. :exc:
Ps - Welcome to Aximsite.

CutePDF is basically a cut down version of the printer driver from Acrobat. It's just very very free.
As Kcallahan says, All you do is instead of printing to a piece of paper, you use the PDF printer driver (either adobe or Cute) and print straight to an electronic file... you can even set your paper sizes.

No... you need to fake the output of the scanner probably... Why cant you move them? Is it WORM storage?
