Shady stuff on Handango?

Check this out...

Can this guy do this? Isn't all this software freeware and not available for sale by third parties? Tell me where I'm wrong. (What about those claims for Pocket SNES !!! This dude's nuts.

It actually says that the emulators are included at no cost, but it does seem kind of shaddy. I just looked at their other products, and a few are only nintendo games. Unless if they bought the license to sell it (which is doubful) it's most likely illegal. Needless to say, I wouldn't buy any of their software

Yeah, it can't be legit. I'm sure he will be hearing from several parties on this one.

I think the guys have included just the Emulators, not ROMs at all.....

And they are not "selling" the emulators, they are just using them as a catch in order to sell their main product, the overclocker

The only catch is that their overclocker software sells for $6.95 by itself and $9.95 with the 'free' emulators. Can't believe 31 people have been stupid enough to fall for this scam already (according to Handango's site.)

Well, you know, this used to be a rather "decent" way to make money. Years ago, when PC Shareware was starting to catch on, there were thousands of "compilations" on CDs, selling for very few bucks, and containing only shareware. The seller was not allowed to charge for the software, so they charged for the CDs, the packaging, and the shipping

It seems to be the same here: whoever cannt find the emulators, or doesnt have the bandwidth to download, can buy this package and have it delivered as a CD.......
