edit - just a heads up - this does play by standard rules which is family oriented or "hot death" rules - some of the cards in this version contain some strong language.

Thanks for the Post!!! I just got done with 4 days of no power here is SE Virginia after Isabel. We were deperate for some adult type card games and this would have come in handy to replace the Hearts, old maid, crazy eights, etc that got over played over and over!!!!
I am going to put this on the AXIM asap and I am going to buy a UNO card set and a Mille Bornes game for the next out of power experience.
Thanks
DW:D
It's only fun for the person who is making you end up with those 50 cards!!!! Otherwise it sucks!!
I would rather play Trivial Pursuit or something that takes some thinking!!!
but c'mon if you play one card over another that will obviously change the outcome. For that matter trivial pursuit is also luck draw the right card, know the answer get it right, draw the wrong card well you get the idea. The hot death is fun but strange; beware of the AIDS card.
So far I like this game too! Its been at least 15 years since I have played and am still hazy on all the rules.... I bet your avg 5 yr old can beat me at Uno :-)
If you play with 4 people and use a double deck there is no luck when the guy going before you keeps dropping reverse cards or draw four cards. There is no skill involved with that game at all.
Originally posted by jwilson56 Practice??? UNO is a total luck based card game. There is no skill involved. The luck of the draw.

The skill, adn thus the need for practice in Uno, comes from passing cards under the table to keep other players from winning!!! You don't want to get caught cheating do you!!??

I've been unable to stop playing it. There are some non-standard cards in the set and they do make the play quite a bit different.
And there IS skill involved. Just as in cribbage, you play the hand you are dealt, but though the deal is random, how you handle the play is not, and can make or break a player. (Not that a crappy run of cards can always be overcome - it IS possible to get such bad cards you can do nothing with them - it is SOME luck).
Anyone know of a FREE Mille Bornes clone for the PPC?

I have heard it said that the death penalty is not enough of a deterrent.
I think that's because it takes too long to be carried out.
