This is a great game if you are looking for a tactical war game. It is a turn based game with some limited graphics, but don't let the graphics put you off. Even though the game is in so called beta testing, it is very stable. I purchased the game long ago when it was first released and it has improved dramatically in each release.

The developer is also very open to just about any ideas that the ppc community has come up with.

Check it out at Metal Shard - PocketWar

I just submitted an entry over on
Axim Hardware Forums->Hardware Troubles - button question

It was probably my own mucking about, not the game, that caused my problems. But if you download one of the older versions of PocketWar, do not attempt to reassign the buttons. As the Axim is one short. See the other entry....

And the guy (Tully) at Metalshard was very helpful.

The game itself - still undecided. Its a good enough game. I'm just going to try a few other demos before I decide which to waste my non-existant spare tiome on.....

I hope PocketWar is like Advance Wars for GameBoy Advance... that game is par excellente and had me engrossed for hours and hours, even tho I'm more of a FPS type of game player (not a "gamer" :P )

Dell now has a fix for the missing 5th button problem that was causing issues with Pocket War. You can download the patch here ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/Handheld/R54079.EXE.
