I ran across this GBA emulator today. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. I suspect the performance isn't jaw dropping though, but hopefully it will evolve into a great FREE(me looks at morphgear) emulator.

Link to the emu

Looks like aside from 0.01b, they also have versions up to 0.05b and 0.05s. Maybe those two are both newer versions that might run better.

I'm back

Well for one thing it is kind of better cause you could save and configure the botton but for some reason none of the games work
But it work on the first version

So i probaly choose the wrong platform cause there was TWO different type of arm files.

Question Newbie Emulator question

My kids are really into GBA and have some cools games. I'd like the ability to play them on my Axe. I get the drift on the emulators, but how do you pull the game itself off the cart?

That is really a question for google. ;)

Using ROMs is a grey area and one we won't touch... Ask away about emulators, but lets keep the ROM questions out of here.

Basically you need a hardware unit that "writes" the cart as an image. Its not cheap. Downloading ROMs off the internet is huge grey area. Sony, Nintendo and other say you cannot even if you own the cart yourself. Many sites have been shut down that have ROMs available. We don't want to get a letter from anyone about copyrighted material so we ask users to refrain from telling anyone where to get ROMs.

And just as a note:

Many websites will post, "It is 100% legal to download ROMS off of our site as long as you actually own the game already."

As James just pointed out, however, this is actually a lie. None of the companies have agreed to this, and if you read up on the copyright laws it is still illegal to obtain a copy of something you already own (in another format). This applies to ANYTHING. For example, if you own the Palm OS version of Hexacto's Lemonade, Inc.....you CAN NOT just go out and download a free copy of their Pocket PC version. So this applies to Nintendo games, GBA games, MP3s, etc.

I shall never mention ROMs again. Can someone recommend a good GBA emulator that runs on the Axe? I tried the link in the earlier post and it is dead.

Just curious what people are using...

there is no good gba emulator. They all run very slow.

Maybe on the new axims with 200 mhz bus might do the trick.

Is it just me or is playing on the pda kind of hard? The dpad doesn't feel right and the buttons are hard to push. I'd rather just carry a gba with me....

I second that.

Why do they have the disc things anyway? why not just put a d-pad on it? D-pads work better then any of the disc ones ive used. I guess they just have have to look stylish or something. (btw by d pad i mean the traditional nintendo style pad, i know they are all technically directional pads).
