one thing you could do if you don't mind overclocking is use a proggie called turbotray 498 and clock your axim to around 500MHZ... gets you great FPS on games like doom.

For Doom O/Cing doesn't make sense. I can play Doom full screen on my old PPC2002 300MHz X5 without troubles. (well I could if the screen hadn't gotten broken)

Now for Quake and even more so, Quake 2, O/Cing will really help.

OCing is good, but even it gets my Axim X5 400MHz a mere 12-15fps on Quake 1... can't even get 2 running.

The one thing I can't grasp is this:

If axim can run q1 and q2, and the HL engine is basically a blend of these 2, can't someone port the versatile Half-Life to it? with overclocking it could get some 10-20FPS on the x3i... and when ATI introduce their Imageon 100 portable graphic processors, we'd have a stable 25-30FPS on Half-Life... can having a clan-match in Counter-Strike while taking the bus to work be far away?
