The mahjong game I have is the kind with all tiles face up on the surface...I think that might be the kind you want. It's freeware, but in order to get all functions, such as retaining your high scores, changing tiles, you have to register.

And download the try version. It shouldn't have an expiration date either. If it asks for it, select the arm processor version, otherwise it will download and work. If you have troubles with this, pm me for the executable file of the trial version.

Thanks but those games are solitaire or concentration type games, I'm looking more for the 4 player type chinese game that old jewish & chinese ladies play

Although not free this is a very good implementation of Mahjong and certainly worth a demo download to give it a go.

1- I have an actual mahjong game with instructions that are written in broken english. When I have time, I'll put together instructions from that as best as I can.

2- Yahoo games has mahjong that you can play online. It has pretty good help files that explain how to play.

I discovered, after installing that a web tutorial gets installed with it. It covers much more than the little pamphlet that came with my tile set.
