Hi all, I just ordered a basic Axim last night and will be getting it by Jan.14th. I can't wait! Has anyone tried successfully running Mame arcade games on it? Thanks.

Not yet, but I will try later today. By the way, you'll probably get it a lot sooner, unless they are low in stock on the 300s. I orderd a 400 on Saturday, payed the extra $2 and got it yesterday. :D

I'm about to try, but.. is there a "BEST" MAME for the Axim??

Just tried it.. MAMEce3 and it works, but slow.. REALLY bad with sound...
Playable but slow without sound...

I also tried imame and it didn't work for me, but that might have been a ROM issue, as I was only testing with 2....

So I'm not satisfied with either of those options yet....

You may want to try PocketNES for PocketPC. I am using that now. The NES had some classic arcade games like Donkey Kong, Dig Dug (although it doesn't seem to work - sound, no video), Mario Bros - plus all the great NES games.

Yeah, I use YAMEce, which emulates NES ang Gameboy well.
(It also does SNES (SLOW) and TG16, but I couldn't get TG16 to work, but)

It's actually great!!

NES is darn near perfect, and their version of Donkey Kong was great!!

until level 4...

There is no Level 4 on the NES Donkey Kong!!! :(

Oh well, it's still fun to play... NES pacman is fun, but weird with the smaller playfield.. NES Tetris is, I think, the best Tetris I've seen for the PPC!! :D
