WM2003 and pocketsnes

Hi quick question, Will the speed of pocketsnes games be that much greater if I upgrade my X5 basic from pocketpc2002 to
WM2003. I read that an upgrade would increase the game speed. If so is it worth it to upgrade to WM2003 for this purpose only? What other advantages are there to upgrading? I would really appreciate some opinions about this.
Thanks

It will only give a noticeable performance gain if you have the PXA255 processor. Older axims benefit only slightly. Other than that, read up on WM2k3 and see if you like it enough to spill $30. And definitely consider overclocking to 400mhz, because 300MHz isn't really good for much... especially gaming... IMHO if you were planning on using your Ax for gaming, you should've saved up a bit more and got the 400MHz one (I got mine refurbed for $220 shipped after a few stackable discounts).
Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

Hi
i do overclock to 400 or 472 when playing games, and I do have a pxa255 processor. AximPhreak you said I will get a noticeable performance gain with a pxa255, I am just curious how noticeable?

You will notice speed increases in PocketSNES or Pocket Morphgear even without a PXA255 processor. My SNES games ran like crap on my WM2002 PXA250 400MHz Axim X5, but after upgrading to WM2003, most SNES games were playable.

on my 400mhz 2002 pxa255, i got about 20-30 fps in pocketsnes

i just upgraded to 2003 and get a full 60/60fps on almost all my snes games in morphgear when i overclock to 478 with XCPUScalar (the SNES morphgear module is free)

Well I'm getting a new replacement axim sent to me, So hopefully wm2003 will be installed on it (my fingers are crossed) and I will get to see the speed difference myself.
