I love all the original sim city games, but i don't want to pay $30 dollars for an unfaithfull repro, if you know of a place that offers a trial download that isn't just screen shots, I would be gratefull. or if you have the game, how does it compare to the classic versions?

I've never seen a trial version, but I do own SimCity 2000. It's a surprisingly complete port of the PC game to the "small screen". For me, though, that's the major problem with it. It's really hard to keep track of all of the activity on the PPC screen. You can scroll around, of course, but it's difficult to see everything, and even more difficult to place lines (power, water, etc.) correctly in order to connect properly.

On the plus side, it has GREAT sound effects...especially when the monsters come to town!
