I downloaded the demo yesterday - it's brill and I'm probably going to buy it. Just wondered how people feel about using the screen directly for controlling games - i.e. you use the 'jump' function by pressing the screen. The Dpad is used for the usual left, right, up, down etc.

I'm not too bothered about using the DPad coz I don't really use it day to day for anything else, but I'm a bit worried about wearing my screen out (yeah, I know I WILL eventually - but I love my axim! I don't wanna wear it out before its time!!!)

Any thoughts?

This is the response I got from Gameloft when I inquired if Rayman would work on my X5:

"Hi,
Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately, Rayman does not work on these recent devices which use Windows Media 2003. Unfortunately, Gameloft does not plan to release a new or updated version which supports this OS."

hi pls do not buy Rayman 2.0 if you are using ppc2003 on x5.

i installed and it totally jammed my pda. Now it's hanging so badly that i can't even get to the "remove program page" in my axim.

ugh i just wasted my money.

I would think you'd be fine using the screen. Nearly all of the games I play are controlled by screen taps/movements. No damage at all *knock on wood*

ok well i've tried installing again, this time on my new SD card and it works! well maybe you need to make sure u've got sufficient memory for it to run smoothly be4 installing.

As far as I'm concerned, Pocket PCs were made to be tapped on, so tap away. Hopefully you have a screen protector. Also at the rate PPCs are progrssing in technology, by the time your screen wears out it will DEFINATELY be your pocket pcs time. That's my opinion.
