Virtual Pool Mobile - An Incredible Billiards Game !!!

The most incredibly realistic billiards game for PDA is currently in a beta testing state.

Here is the website, where you can download the beta test version.

You will be totally amazed by how realistic this game looks and plays. The table and ball physics are outstanding! The sound is life-like.

I recommend loading to your Internal Memory. When I tried it on my storage card, it seemed to have a few very minor issues. I didn't experience them when I reloaded it to Internal Memory.

Here is a discussion about the game in another forum.

Wow. Thanks for the link. I was not aware that Celeris had even been working on a mobile version of Virtual Pool. Just played a match, and I must say that it is the best pool game I've ever played on a PDA. Can't wait until they get the final release ready.

Yes .... this game is almost too good to be true !!!

I still can't believe I am viewing it on a PDA ???

I recommend listening through headphones to really appreciate the high quality music and game sounds.

Also ... it does take a little time to get used to the controls ... table zoom ... rotate table, etc. But once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to play.

You mostly just need to drag the stylus along the pool table to zoom in/out and rotate table. And to shoot, you just put the stylus on the pool cue and drag it back and then push it forward. Similar to real pool.

There is a "?" button in the upper right-hand corner of the game screen, which lets you change settings, and get other helpful info.

You also may want to read the thread from www.pdacorps.com which I linked to above. It will give you all the issues and resolutions other beta testers have reported.

I've played the various Celeris Virtual Pool PC versions of this game for years. It is the best billiards simulation ever written.

And now I absolutely love playing this game on my PDA !!!

Wow. I am really digging this game. Graphics are insane. Physics are great. Music is top-notch. Controls are sweet. Feels more like real pool than Billiard Master... as much as I love BM, that static overhead view just didn't do it for me. Player profiles are pretty funny, too. I can't wait for the full version. I'm hitting the poolhall after work.

I never played Billard Master before, so I just downloaded the demo for the fun of it.

I can now state that these two games aren't even in the same league.

If the two games were automobiles, I would compare Virtual Pool Mobile to being like a brand new Rolls-Royce while Billiard Master is more like an old Chevy Impala.

Billard Master limits you to a simple overhead view of a small pool table with so-so table graphics. The balls are tiny.

Virtual Pool Mobile gives you an outstanding 3 dimensional view of the entire game room complete with a very realistic pool table which can be viewed from almost any angle, can be zoomed in/out, has unbelievable physics, and has almost life-like billiard balls. You can move around this table just like you would do if it were a real table. And even the various game room(s) are very realistic, with pictures hanging on the walls, realistic looking garages with tools hanging on the walls, etc.

BM has you press a red "Shot" button to strike the cue ball.

VPM has you actually stroke the cue stick just like you would do in a real game of pool.

BM takes over a minute to load.

VPM loads almost instantly.

If I were rating the games on a scale from 1 to 10, I would give BM a 5 and VPM a 10+.

I believe that Virtual Pool Mobile will probably be considered one of the best games ever written for a PDA.

A day later, and I think I'm in love. In college, pool and video games is all I did during the day when I should've been in class. Now I still hit a poolhall once a week with my cue. This game will be my ultimate fix when I'm not actually shooting. Does anyone know if the full version will have some kind of practice mode where I can practice my stroke? :nw:

Yea, I've been waiting for this one for a long time too, more than a year ago the developer mentioned this game while I was talking to him in the pocketmatrix forums, I've been playing the betas since he released them a couple months ago, I have to say that this game seems perfectly suited for PDA gaming, while other PDA games seem to lose my interest within a week or so, I can see this game holding up for a long time. If I'd known you guys dident know of this game I'd of posted it earlier, guess I was too busy playing it...

Oh and for the practice, I've suggested it to the developer a while ago, my guess is that there is a chance he will implement one in the final version, although the new beta's stroke is much better than the first, it still takes a little getting used to. Just curious but if you dident know try tapping and holding on to some of the on screen buttons like zoom and dragging up/down, I suggested this too, and am curious if its useful or not, personally a couple tweaks and I'd think it would be very useful. ;)
