Well a friend had this loaded, but I wasn't able to check it out, I'm hoping he's coming into work tonight. Have any of you guys seen this? How does it look/play?

After I read this I went searching for the game an found this.
Need for speed closing in
Pocket PC owners slash car racing lovers are still being kept in suspense as to the release of Need for speed - but that doesn't mean it's impossible to get a sneak peek of the game.
As so many other games that are now being adapted for handheld platforms, Need for speed from ZIOSoft is eagerly anticipated by scores of handheld owners that remember what it was like to play the game on what was once considered a powerful desktop computer - approximately as powerful as a standard Pocket PC 2002 device nowadays. Unfortunately, ZIOSoft has not announced an official launch date as of yet, but new screenshots provide a first look at what the game will offer when it finally arrives.
Ill: ZIOSoft
In Need for Speed: High Stakes, for the Pocket PC, the player's goal is to win prize money, in order to to customize ones car to the ultimate dream machine and gain access to exclusive super cars as the gameplay evolves.
Cars range from the speed demon, Porsche 911, to the Ferrari F50, Ferrari 550 Maranello, Jaguar XKR, Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac Firebird , Lamborghini Diablo SV, McLaren F1 GTR, BMW Z3 and M5, Porsche 911, Mercedes SLK 230 and CLK-GTR. In order to win the entire game, 60 different racing events must be won to become the "Champion Road Racer", all whilst the driver must be as careful as possible so as to not ding, dent or scratch his or her car having to spend valuable money on repairing it instead of upgrading it.
Ill: ZIOSoft
As an added bonus, players can also add to personal cars and tracks by downloading additional ones from the ZIOSoft website. Speaking of the website, that's where one of the most unnerving messages for those who eagerly anticipate the game to arrive is placed; Coming Soon.
I went to the company's website, but it is still under construction.
I played it on my friend's PPC. The game looks pretty good, but man... it's freakin horrible. The controls are just plain crap. You have to try it if you get a chance just to see how crappy it really is...:exc:

hrrmmm....how are you able to play it if it hasen't been released yet? My guess would be there is a leaked alpha or even pre-alpha floating around the internet. If this is the case making any judgement on a completely unfinished game would be foolish.

Try 6th Gear Ultimate Challenge It's not Need for Speed" but at least it has some hills to go over unlike GTS Racing Challenge.
Don't Panic!

i have the prerelease. can i post it here, or will i get in trouble?? it really sucks. you have to accelerate with the d pad, but steer with the stylus. PLUS it doesnt even have an exe install. its a direct cab install. and even that doesnt put shortcuts on the start menu or anything.

There is no such thing as a "pre-release". If the game isn't released that means its not finished(which means you are playing a pirated copy...shame on you :) ). Playing an unfinished game and making judgments on it is not too bright. Believe me, I know, I make games for a living.
so far every racing game i have seen for the ppc looks great. bad thing is that they all suck, unless ziosoft can devise a more clever controls than gts racing or any of those than this game will be a shameful waste of great graphics and such...im hopeful tho, i like ziosoft
