GBA emulation now running 30+ fps with sound on overclocked X30
For emulation fans, I have done some benchmarks.
Just did some tests with the AXIM X30 high overclocked with XCPUScalar 2004 v2.80 to 728MHz. Set sound to 11kb/s and frame skip to zero in MorphGear running GBA emulation.
Amazing results:
FPS was around 30 plus frames per sec at zero frame skip and 40 plus fps with 1 frame skip. Animation was smooth for all games I tried.

What?! REally? No kidding?! Holy cow! 30+? Where can I get my hands on this emulator? Where can I get my hands on the overclocker?
Jeez, just a while ago I was asking if such a thing is possible, but 30+ fps? Hm... Exactly what emulator were you using? Where can I get this godly overclocking thingee? How much do they cost? I'm desperate here! Heheh...
edit:
Oh, it was Morphgear... Is there any other fast GBA emu? Just curious, you know...

Wait, wait, wait, Let's back up a bit. How many fps does "Morphgear" run at without overclocking? Also, with the overclocking program you guys are talkin' 'bout, is "30 fps" a good speed? Is it smooth? Is it full speed? Is it half? Sorry folks, but I ain't all to aquainted with GBA stats, so those numbers mean very little (though I know most DVDs play at 30fps). With this emulator, does it run at full GBA speed with the 30fps? The 40fps? Sorry, but I'm a bit ignorant on these numbers, heheh...

Full speed is 60 fps. Using my Asus, without overclocking and without sound, I get around 30-38 fps and most of the games I have tried are definitely playable. With sound, I get around 26 fps, which is a little slow.

Okay, here is a comparison to the Asus and non-overclocked Axim X30 High.
Axim X30 high overclocked to 728MHz with XCPUScalar.
FrameSkip of 2, no sound - 60 FPS, Games were to fast.
FrameSkip of 2, with sound - 50 FPS.
FramSkip of 1, with sound - 40+ FPS
FrameSkip of 0, with sound - 30 FPS
Non Overclocked X30 high at 624MHz
FrameSkip of 1, with sound - 35 FPS
FrameSkip of 0, with sound - 25 FPS

Ah. Definately noticeable. Doesn't OC-ing always sort of harm your machine? I mean, I know a friend who had an older version (check the board at your forum, Immier--I just realized who you were, heh) and he had no problem with an OC-ed X5 (600mhz). But then again, I think he just got lucky playing around with those manual modifiers.
Oh yeah, what about the Asus? How does it compare? At the top of your post, it said you'd do some comparisons, hehe, but it looks like you maybe forgot. ;-)

Raynne413 was using Frameskip of 2 and no sound on his Asus and got 30 - 38 FPS. In my results I set it to the same settings an got a full 60 FPS. When I reffered to Asus I was referring to Raynne413 bechmarks so you could compare.

I get 28-31FPS with no sound on FPSece psx emulator, 0 frameskip. Morphgear isn't really that good at emulating in comparison to other emulators that run more stressful games at the same fps minus sound.
