Hmm Argentum: This is War 1.2

I have had my eye on this game for a bit and am soon going on a short business trip (any Aximgeeks in Seattle? ). I don't game much but have found I have found strategy games engaging. The more complex the better. I've grown a bit bored with Space Trader and this seems like the next logical step for me.
Does anyone have (or have played) this game?
What do you think of it? The reviews are great and based on its downloads, it seems to be quite the winner.

I'm thinking this game, and a new backup battery and I'm set for hours of mindless entertainment on the plane.

I would love some feedback on this game before I head off on my little trip.

You can find it here.

Argentum is a good game, but I have found that I like Warfare and Age of Empires much better. You should check them out.

Thanks Cheryl,
Those two games are cool, indeed. But $30 for a game?
For a non-gamer, thats alot of $ for a little game to play on one of my toys.
I have to say though, Warfare looks REALLY cool. I'm quite the Sci-Fi fan.(was it You and I chatting about Piers Anthony long ago...?)
If I were to buy one, it would be Warfare. If you have it, how long did it keep you occupied? Do you find it still challenging?

Definately check out Warfare Incorporated, especially if you're a fan of the Command & Conquer series. There are also tons of free User Authored Mission Packs available after you've beaten the game.

Well, there are a few threads(see below) comparing the two games and Argastas is the 2nd one to vote for Warfare over Argentum.
I was reading in a previous thread that the main difference in the two is the story behind the game, and it sounds like I can get more playtime out of Warfare.
Whats not to like about Argentum? Does it just not compare to Warfare?

Yah, I would go with Warfare......Argentum is pretty much unsupported anymore and the games website is non exsistent, meaning that it is very hard to get any extra missions.

Yeah so....

The battery was the other goodie I was going to buy.

Anyone have any favs? I want one that will fit within my Piel Frama case so I'm looking at the Mugen Power 2000mAh battery.

Anyone want to speak up about aftermarket bartteries?

I have the Mugen 3800 for my X5 and it's been great. Obviously that won't fit in the case (unless you have the extended battery version) but I think you won't go wrong getting their 2000. I've considered it myself.

And just one more note on real-time strategy games, if you want a fun little cheap one, you might want to give Sploit! a try. I had a lot of fun with it and it's only $2.95. There's a trial with the first few levels if you want to check it out before you plunk down the cash.
