X30 good for a gamer?

I use to own an X5 and then I moved to a Sony Clie because they have a gampad option. I've sold that and am concidering the X30. I'm sure the speed will be nice but how is it to play games on?
Are the buttons and dpad good or does it suck?

Mike

I would say that it is average. You should like it and will get used to.

Should I add also that for other functions they are above average.

The D-Pad really sucks for gaming man. But you can get touch screen games like Snails.

heres the deal:

Games will run fast and awesome!
D-Pad will make you wanna hang yourself!

Until Dell comes out with a thumbpad like the x5 has, or a gamepad, i will refuse to say it is good for gaming!

The main reason I went with a Sony Clie was because of the controller. Problem was the games suck.

This is what we need for the Axims.

Yup the control pad really sucks for games. Everything seems to run fine, but the pad is annoying, even for stuff like Ms. Pac-Man.

I concur with all the others, the games run great, my old X5 had a lot of problems running morphgear but the X30 runs everything I've thrown at it, at full speed with sound. Unfortunately, for me, most of the "Action" type games are unplayable due to the crappy D-pad (the X5 was no better for me, it's too spongey, the X30 is too stiff)

If you're mostly into RPGs and Puzzle games that don't require fast reflexes, you should find the X30 button input to be more than acceptable. Personally, I find myself using the on-screen direction pad on morphgear for RPGs and Strategy games.
