Big Smile Poker Game That Teaches How to Play?

Hi..I wondered if anyone knows of a pocket PC game that actually teaches how to play poker. I have downloaded trials of "All-In-Hold'Em" and "Pokerhand". But they really don't "teach" and I really need that. Any ideas?

I know..I know..how could I not know how to play<G>

Poker Instructor

There is a game for the Pocket PC called "Video Poker Pro" by G3Studios (www.g3studios.com) which claims to teach poker. I haven't heard how good it is though.

why would anyone need help to play "video poker"

and as far as learning hold'em, omaha etc, just do a google search on tutorials/guides. The mechanic is simple, but poker is never about mechanics and that intangible is only learned through experience.

Well..I've never played video or any kind of poker so I guess I would need some "help" in learning how to play it. Thank you for the suggestions about getting information on the "mechanics" of the game. I would need to learn what makes a particular hand valuable before anything else. I was hoping that one of the pocket PC games might not assume too much knowledge. I've only tried 2 of them.

eeer wow... you are truly a newbie... hmmmmm

well...

http://www.all-poker-rules.com/begin...ds-values.html

first link when I searched for "beginner poker" on google.
you can look through others. I didn't look too much and only varified the 1st...
that 1st page give you an overview of hands, then click on the next link to read the rules.

There are many many pokers. video pokers are a special type, typically found in lounges where players play against the machine.
It is sort of like slot machine, you deal cards, you decide which cards to keep and hoping that itmakes out something.

Go to yahoo games and you can play video poker for free. I believe it also have tutorial.

Vido poker is quite boring.

Then there is poker that was most popular, bascially the same principal, decide how many cards to keep and discard x cards then get x new cards hoping you match something and your hand is larger than others.

Celebrity poker and poker championship plays Texas Hold'em. which is more complicated... because there is community cards and stuff... like in the hold'em game you downloaded, you have 2 cards and then 5 cards are dealt, you match your with those.

then there is omaha, which is even more complicated... but read some of the basic before you venture into any game. I don't think there is a need to buy anything that "teach" you poker until you are quite familiar with the basic.

And that game, birdsoft's hold'em rocks :) get it!

edit: oh I should add that yahoo game's free section also have hold'em. and I also believe they have a tutorial perhaps...

If you plan on playing video poker while in a casino, you better know what you're doing or you stand no chance. There are windows programs which teach you the strategy to use to get the highest return.

I was hoping 'Bob Dancer's Winpoker' had a PPC version but it doesn't look like it. This program will act like a casino VP machine and let you play. When you are done it will tell you the mistakes you made and how much it would have cost you.

Just realized I dug this thread back up from the dead :D

Anyways, I found the program I was talking about for proper video poker strategy. I don't get my x50v until tomorrow so I don't even know if it works, but it is available!

Downloaded the free version and it seems to work. Nothing fancy but who needs fancy to learn!
