"Not a valid PocketPC application?"

I found another thread about this, and the main idea was that you can get an error like this when trying to play a game that was designed for PPC2002 on the Axim WM2003. I suppose that is what happened because when I installed it, a pop up message read "this game many not display properly because it was designed for another version of windows".

That's cool and all except: This game DID work when I installed it on Tuesday

The game is Monopoly, and I installed it to my SanDisk 256 mb storage card.

Any ideas on why it would work one day, and then all of a sudden not be considered a valid application on the other?

Have you had any other problems with software installed on the SD card?

Try a soft reset and see if that helps.

And if a soft reset doesn't work, try uninstalling and then reinstalling.

Ok, to answer all your questions:

- I haven't seen any other problems with the SD card, but then I've only been using it for the past 3 days. I know there are issues with the SanDisk card, but I didn't have much of an option. See http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=49607 for more info.

- I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times. I've done soft resets before uninstall and after reinstall. Nope :bang:

For every single app I install, it tells me that it may not display properly yadda yadda. But it's always worked. Thing just never thinks it's gonna work.

I've been playing around with the idea of getting a 512mb SD card. This has got me thinking to try another brand besides SanDisk. Unfortuantely, here in Montreal stores, I can only find either SanDisk or Lexar. Some stores sell Verbatim, but they are made by SanDisk (right?).

I can order a Kingston 512mb card from www.tigerdirect.ca for about $90. Anyone have any problems with Kingston SD cards?

Speaking of Monopoly... Good lord that game eats the battery up. I can play for about 45 minutes and the battery is already down to 50%. Isn't that a bit much?

Ok, this gets even stranger...

I put aside the copy I had installed before (a friend had given it to me) and after uninstalling it, etc.., I tried installing the demo version included on the Dell CD. Same result.

If this were a PC, I'd say I would have to uninstall and then clean our the Registry (i.e. remove all traces of the program). How does one do this on a PPC ?
