I just bought that Microsoft game pack, and can't seem to control Ms Pac Man (or Pac Man). The pad doesn't respond well. I also just installed the update to the pad controller, which makes it even worse. Is there a way to properly control these guys or should I assume that the games aren't a good idea?
micknelson, I feel ya. I'm having the same issues + I must soft reset or the system gets really slow after I play those games. How can I tell if I need the d patch thing for the center button to work?
The center button seems really lose and sluggish to me..
A little more info -
Pac Man and MS Pac Man are very hard to control - if not totally impossible.
When I installed the "fix" for the dpad, it seems to always act as if I were hitting enter, and taking me entirely out of the game.
Now, I know that this system isn't designed for gaming, but it'd be nice to be able to play these games too during down time.

Go into the Game Settings and change the button mapping of "ACTION" to "NONE". That will keep it from doing that.
Also, have you tried lowering the repeat rate to help with the controls? Just go to Start---> Settings-----> Buttons----->Up and Down. Then slide both slider bars as far as you can to the left. This helped with some of my games.

Well, we can't "fix" everything you know. I love these guys :)
I wish we could get the d-pad to work great though :(
